The latest data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics revealed that Egyptian exports made a qualitative leap during the first quarter of 2026, driven primarily by a notable increase in industrial and agricultural sector exports and a significant expansion into targeted export markets in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
Topping the list of rising Egyptian exports were petroleum products and liquefied natural gas, processed food products, textiles and ready-made garments, as well as chemical products and manufacturing industries that saw a remarkable expansion in their international buyer base.
The Minister of Trade and Industry expressed great satisfaction with these positive figures, affirming that the government is pressing ahead with plans to double the volume of Egyptian exports over the next five years by supporting small and medium enterprises seeking to enter foreign markets and improving their competitive capabilities.
This export achievement reinforces Egypt’s comprehensive economic reform journey, which aims to diversify national income sources and reduce reliance on imports while building a solid productive base capable of competing in international markets.
