The latest report from Egypt’s Center for Digital Economy Research reveals that more than sixty percent of large Egyptian companies are now deploying artificial intelligence technologies in their operations in various forms, a remarkable increase of twelve percentage points from last year, reflecting the wave of digital transformation underway in the Egyptian business sector.
AI applications in the Egyptian business environment are spread across several key areas: automating customer service and complaint management processes, predictive analytics for supply chains and inventory management, fraud detection in the banking and insurance sector, and intelligent content deployment in targeted digital marketing.
The report pointed to major challenges facing AI adoption, most notably a shortage of specialized human competencies capable of developing and maintaining these systems, high initial costs of technological transformation, and the absence of a comprehensive legislative framework regulating data usage and privacy protection in the context of AI.
In this regard, the Ministry of Communications announced the launch of a national program to qualify twenty thousand AI and data science specialists over the next three years, in partnership with leading Egyptian universities and a number of leading global technology companies.
